Individual Art Psychotherapy
ONLINE OR IN-PERSON | 50 or 80 MINUTES
Coming Home To Yourself Through Art
My one-on-one sessions offer an empathic, compassionate, and nonjudgmental creative space for you to delve into your creative imagination and explore your embodied soul through art. Using both directed and nondirected approaches to art psychotherapy, the individual engages in the creative process to discover meaning and the potential for new life. Together we listen for the images that arise out of the somatic unconscious, from movement out of stillness, we move toward art-making using a mix of wet or dry materials such as paint, clay, pastels, pencils or charcoal.
Rooted in the depth psychology tradition and the wisdom of the body, my approach honours the psyche’s natural impulse toward healing and wholeness. You do not need to consider yourself an artist; what matters is a willingness to be curious and open to the unfolding process.
In this work, the image leads. The body remembers. And transformation often begins in places we didn’t know needed tending.
Art Therapy is not about skill or perfection; it is about allowing what wants to emerge, embracing spontaneity, and developing a compassionate relationship with yourself. Through this process, we cultivate inner resources, resilience, and a renewed sense of possibility.
Whether you are navigating life transitions, feeling stuck, seeking deeper self-understanding, or wanting to reclaim your creative vitality, I offer a supportive, nonjudgmental space where you can explore freely.
The duration of an individual session is 50 minutes or 80 minutes.

FAQs
-
Yes, I do offer art therapy sessions online. However, at present I do not work with children online.
-
You don’t need any special skills or expensive materials to begin art therapy online.
The goal is expression, not perfection.
Here are some basic supplies that work well for most sessions. However, I will send you a list of basic materials before our session together. If you have a preferred medium of choice this is fine too. As both directed and non-directed approaches can be used, this can involve suggesting a particular medium that might be the most appropriate for certain work.
Paper (mix of sizes - plain paper, if you would like coloured paper this is fine too)
Chalk Pastels
Coloured pencils, crayons, markers
Oil pastels
Watercolour or acrylic paints or poster paints
Mix of paintbrush sizes
Pens and pencils
Scissors and glue (optional for collage work)
A sketchbook or notebook (if you like to keep things together)
Before your first session, we’ll discuss what you already have and adapt the process to suit your preferences and resources. Art therapy is about creative exploration, not art technique- all you need is curiosity and a willingness to engage.

Not at all. Art therapy is not about creating something “good” or “beautiful” — it’s about expressing yourself through art when words are sometimes not enough. Externalising often difficult hard to reach emotions through the medium of art can offer insight, release, satisfaction or reduction of anxiety. Whilst also offering the potential for discovery of new life and meaning. No artistic skill is required.
In fact, many people who come to art therapy haven’t made art since childhood.
What matters is the process, not the product. The marks you make — however simple or abstract — can hold meaning, emotion, and insight. You’re welcome just as you are.
-
Yes. Everything you share in our sessions — including your artwork — is treated with complete confidentiality and respect. The only exception is if I am concerned about your safety or the safety of others, in which case I have a professional duty to take appropriate action. If that ever became necessary, I would always try to discuss it with you first.
Your trust matters deeply, and creating a safe space for you is at the heart of the work.
